JOB SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Safety Manager to join our team. As a Safety Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, contractors, and visitors on our construction sites and in our offices across the US. Your exceptional knowledge of safety regulations, strong attention to detail, and ability to effectively communicate and enforce safety protocols will contribute to our commitment to creating and maintaining a safe work environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Submit proper documentation as requested by external safety and compliance contractors to help ATS meet and maintain our customers’ specific safety standards
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures, as well as provide training to employees on safe work practices
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, documenting findings and making recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures
  • Monitor and ensure the proper use and maintenance of safety equipment and personal protective gear
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in safety regulations and industry best practices, and make recommendations for updates to company policies and procedures
  • Conduct safety meetings and tool bag talks to promote awareness and address safety concerns

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to assess potential safety risks
  • Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively train and educate employees on safety procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address safety concerns proactively
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Motivated to develop and execute global safety initiatives spanning multiple states and office locations

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires a combination of working in an office environment and routine visits to project jobsites up to 50% of working hours. Project jobsites present typical construction and outdoor conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment for safety purposes. Lifting and exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds more frequently is required. Must be comfortable climbing a ladder infrequently.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Annual base salary range for candidates is $74,000-$126,000 and increases with tenure and experience

POSITION TYPE AND HOURS:

  • Full-time, exempt
  • Typical Monday – Friday working hours with flexibility as needed
  • Local travel required up to 30% of the time with occasional out-of-state travel

CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, or a related field
  • Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., OSHA 30-hour, NEBOSH)
  • Minimum 3 years proven experience working as a Safety Officer or Manager in the construction industry
