Primary Duties
1. Designs and manages activities regarding installation, configuration, testing, maintenance and problem resolution of network hardware and related software in the network architecture and supporting the enterprise network infrastructure, including software defined data center fabric, software defined wide area networks, overlay networks, virtual private networks, wireless networks, perimeter firewalls, micro-segmentation firewalls, routers, and switches.
2. Manages research, deployment, integration, and configuration of all networks, network access, and remote access solutions ensuring compliance with IT operating policies and procedures.
3. Performs network architecture research, planning, and analysis resulting in creation of enterprise network-related documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, procedures, and configuration information).
4. Plans, designs, implements, tests, and maintains enterprise Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan processes and procedures regarding enterprise network connectivity, access, and availability.
5. Creates and manages reports based on historical data related to the access, usage, and availability of enterprise network connectivity ensuring compliance with IT policies and procedures.
6. Provides technical guidance on reported network incidents or outages regarding network access or connectivity and organizes the use of internal and external technical support to provide the highest level of timely problem resolution.
7. Manages the development and presentation of training documentation for end-users or internal IT staff related to networking equipment configuration, usage, and access procedures for local, wide area, wireless networks, and remote access solutions.
8. Develops technical documentation to provide IT staff, management, and Enterprise Architecture with configuration and deployment details for maintaining effective network operations and access, backup/recovery processes, and disaster recovery procedures.
Educational/Experience Level
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and three years of experience in computer programming and operating networks analysis.
Communication Skills
Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information on technical concepts to individuals.
Numeric Skills
Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages and simple statistical methods.
Computer Skills
Requires a very high level of computer skills in order to use various software packages as well as a familiarity with hardware configuration.
Work Conditions
Works in an office environment.
Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
