**Specialty Regional Sales Manager - South Central** at **Spero Therapeutics** Spero Therapeutics (Nasdaq: SPRO) is a multi-asset pre-commercial stage biopharmaceutical company in Cambridge, Mass. We are highly committed to advancing novel treatment approaches for bacterial infections with a world-class team of biotechnological and biopharmaceutical experts. The company has a pipeline of novel and highly differentiated antibacterial and rare disease product candidates focused on patients' unmet needs with multi-drug resistant (MDR) bacterial infections. Speros lead product candidate, tebipenem HBr, is an oral carbapenem being developed as the first oral carbapenem antibiotic for use in complicated urinary tract infections (cUTI) and acute pyelonephritis (AP). In September 2020, Spero announced positive top-line results from its Phase 3 ADAPT-PO clinical trial of tebipenem HBr in cUTI and AP, and in October 2021, Spero filed a new drug application for tebipenem HBr in these indications. Spero is also developing SPR720, its oral antimicrobial agent in development for the treatment of nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) pulmonary disease, a rare orphan disease. Speros third product candidate, SPR206, is an IV-administered agent being developed as an innovative option to treat MDR Gram-negative bacterial infections. We believe that our novel product candidates will have a meaningful impact on patient health and significant commercial applications for treating MDR infections in hospitals and community settings. Overview The Specialty Regional Sales Manager (RSM), position is a key leadership role accountable for building, leading and managing a field based team of up to 10 Territory Sales Managers in a defined geography. As a front line sales leader, you are accountable for sales results, leading a highly ethical, compliant and engaged culture, management of the business within the assigned geography, and coaching and developing the sales team. The RSM will effectively collaborate with Marketing, Market Access, Operations, Human Resources and other cross functional colleagues to maximize the results of the organization both in the short and long term. What you'll do The purpose of the RSM is to achieve and strive to exceed sales objectives by building, leading, coaching, and managing the sales team. Demonstrate exceptional leadership, including building a culture that attracts and retains the very best talent Evaluate market dynamics within assigned geography and build plans that optimize the teams success Elevate the performance of the team by coaching, leading and inspiring the team individually and collectively to achieve greater results. Travel is required throughout the geography. Overnight stays will be required including meetings which may extend over several days (on occasion may include weekends) and require work during evening hours and/or overnight stays. What you'll need Bachelors degree is required 6 or more years pharmaceutical sales experience, including 2 years of sales leadership, is strongly preferred A proven, consistent and documented track record of outstanding sales results (ideally top 25% of the nation) is required Strong and successful pharmaceutical launch experienced preferred Urology experience preferred Ability to effectively work in a fast paced startup environment Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing Provide regular, engaging, and tailored coaching of each Sales Representative focused on sales effectiveness and impact and longer-term development. Written and verbal coaching should be candid, respectful, and support business and career development while leading to greater results and increased responsibilities. Assess and analyze the Regions product/competitor trends and market dynamics. Develop and execute Regional sales strategies and tactics, and effectively aligning budgets and resources based on the highest opportunities to accelerate brand growth. Create, build, and maintain relationships and regular communication with providers, KOLs (key thought leaders), and other customers. Be the liaison between key customers so that the organization remains informed of evolving market dynamics and needs. Manage all operations related to the Region, and ultimately ensuring achievement of all performance targets and budgeted sales goals by each member of the team.
