Position Summary:
The Food Runner is responsible for food deliveries, is able to describe items, replenishes supplies and acts as a liaison between the Front of House and Back of House staff. They are responsible for ensuring that each guest receives the correct order and provides a detailed explanation of the dish they had delivered. The food runner keeps an organized board, double checks orders, matching the food ticket to the guest, and assists with guest needs.
Responsibilities: (This includes but is not limited to)
Ensure the guest is receiving the correct order
Double check the order before it goes to a guest
Organize expeditor space
Answer any questions from the guest related to the food menu and any other questions
Possess strong knowledge of ingredients and allergens
Keep all working stations clean, organized and properly stocked
Perform daily and weekly cleaning duties
Provide the guest with excellent guest experience
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent;
1-2 years fine dining experience required
Dependability-job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Team player is MUST
Strong task and time management abilities
Eye for detail and understanding of food intolerances and allergies
Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc. for extended periods, and lift up to 30 lbs.
Maintaining composure, keeping emotions in check, controlling anger, and avoiding aggressive behavior, even in difficult situations
