The Childcare Director position is a critical member of our ministry, serving by demonstrating the love of Christ and offering hope to mothers and children ages 0-17. This individual serves the clients and their children by providing leadership, planning, and directing all educational activities of children.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the childcare center, including training and development of staff, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children.
  • Develop and implement educational programs and curricula that align with state standards and promote the cognitive, social, and emotional development of children.
  • Supervise staff planning and implementation of daily activity schedules for each child; individualized to reflect each child’s interests and developmental needs
  • Engage with mothers and staff for consultation and advice
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to enrollment, attendance, and child development.
  • Collaborate with parents/guardians to address any concerns or issues regarding their child's care and development.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Manage the budget and financial aspects of the childcare center
  • Purchase and manage classroom and playground materials, equipment, and supplies
  • Manage facilities of the childcare center and report any repairs to the Maintenance team
  • Ensure that staff maintains compliance with Georgia’s licensing standards and Georgia Quality Rated System requirements through the development and implementation of individual tasks
  • Provide transportation support for offsite events for children

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (PDS Career Level 8)
  • Minimum of three years of experience in staff supervision, and early childcare program management, including the direct care of young children (Birth -5 years)
  • Experience working with children who have experienced homelessness or other types of trauma is preferred
  • Must be knowledgeable of child development, developmentally appropriate practices, and other resources available to early childhood educators
  • Must be willing to pursue further knowledge in the field of child development and to share that knowledge with others
  • Must support and abide by the center’s educational philosophy
  • Must be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification within the first 90 days of employment
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Word and Outlook
  • Must possess good communication skills and establish positive relationships with parents through verbal and written communication
  • Must be willing to drive children to planned events and ease with operating a passenger van
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a motor vehicle record that meets our company’s insurance requirements

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Must be in reasonably good health and able to lift up to forty (40) pounds.
