As a Teacher, you are critical to our ministry by providing support for all aspects of the care & education for the children enrolled in his/her class._

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:*

  • Ensure the safety of each child enrolled in the class whether in the classroom, on the playground, or in common areas
  • Assist in maintaining regular observation and evaluation of children's development and progress as directed by the administration
  • Assist in maintaining responsibility daily for the ordered arrangement, appearance, decor, and cleanliness of the learning environment of the classroom
  • Create safe and appropriate diapering, toileting, and handwashing areas and help children with all personal hygiene skills
  • Serve as a role model for the children in the areas of attitude, speech, and actions on a daily basis
  • Treat each child with dignity and respect for his/her cultural background
  • Encourage children's development in the areas of building self-confidence, problem-solving, and taking responsibility for their actions
  • Interact with each child daily through circle time, centers, snacks, lunchtime, playground, free play, etc.
  • Provide classroom coverage for staff during lunch breaks and as needed
  • Attend staff and parent meetings as required
  • Nurture positive relationships with parents and establish continual communication.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are being followed according to Georgia Bright from the Start policies and regulations.
  • Maintain individual GaPDS account

Position Requirements:*

  • High school diploma or GED; and 0 to 3 years of early care and education experience with young children; and 0 to 30 clock hours of state-approved/ accepted training
  • Demonstrated track record of dealing with diverse demographic
  • Excellent listening skills and a teachable spirit with the ability to learn from others
  • Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite applications; and experience working in a donor database, Salesforce experience preferred
  • Creative and critical thinker
  • Leadership experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a licensed, quality-rated center
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Certification or License Requirements:

  • Valid Adult & Infant CPR/First Aid Certificate

  • Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing, sitting and/or walking)
  • Must be able to communicate accurate information
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25lbs
