Atlanta Community Food Bank, Inc is Hiring a Director, Marketing and Communications Near East Point, GA

Who We Are:

The Atlanta Community Food Bank is working to end hunger in our community with the food, people and big ideas needed so that no one worries where their next meal is coming from. Since 1979, we’ve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners – including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers. We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

Where You’ll Work:

This position reports to the Chief Development Officer and is a hybrid position (2-3 days in the office).

About the Role:

As the Director, Marketing and Communications, you will assume the leadership role in managing the Marketing Department and report directly to the Chief Development Officer. This position guides annual marketing and communications strategies to build awareness and generate external support and engagement. Your key focus areas include: communications, marketing, brand management, media and public relations, graphic design management, digital/social media marketing and oversight of the Food Bank’s education team.

The Food Bank is looking for someone who has a strong marketing and communications background that includes demonstrated success creating and implementing large-scale integrated marketing plans and content. The individual in this role is a generalist capable of handling a diverse breadth of work and, most importantly, has an innate understanding of the most effective ways to inspire engagement.

What You’ll Do:

Strategic Leadership/Tactical Execution:

  • Provide- leadership and mentorship to the marketing and education teams to effectively implement strategies.

  • Manage- multiple priorities simultaneously; maintain a flexible work schedule to meet various demands for multiple concurrent projects.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies, platforms, and partners. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.

  • Understand the Food Bank's strategic objectives and critical success factors to determine the best marketing solutions and align cross-functional teams towards brand strategy.

  • Refine and monitor key performance indicators to measure brand strength, audience penetration, campaign and channel performance and performance insights.

Marketing and Communications

  • Ultimately oversees and guides the execution/production and process implementation for all creative design deliverables;

  • Create and maintain the communications project roadmap,

  • Deeply collaborates in the “story telling” process and communicating the impact of our work and partnerships

  • Oversees the execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns, including print, social, digital, radio, TV, OTT, outdoor and other emerging channels. Develops success metrics and monitors/reports results

  • Manages website including: ensuring consistency of brand voice and expression, refreshing content as needed, managing annual audits, and monitoring overall performance and engagement.

Public Relations/Media Relations:

  • Develop PR communications plan, tactics, and resources to achieve organizational goals

  • Maintains/develops relationships with media outlets to leverage earned media opportunities to position the Food Bank as a thought leader

  • Represents the organization internally and externally and conveys a professional and positive image of the organization and its affiliated organizations. Crisis communication experience and training a plus and preferred

  • Collaborates with and manages agencies and other vendor partners

What You’ll Need: Skills your resume should demonstrate:

  • Diverse, high-visibility content creation experience; highly imaginative with exceptional creative writing skills with the intent to engage and inspire support.

  • Experience with media relations or a strong willingness to learn; ability to manage strategic media relations activities.

  • Demonstrated skillset in successful annual plans and initiating new programs to achieve engagement objectives.

  • Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills; ability to develop and monitor work plans; experience managing multiple projects with multiple stakeholders simultaneously; ability to assess and measure outcomes.

  • Ability to carefully track and complete detailed assignments with minimal supervision. Highly organized and skilled project manager with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to effectively delegate, prioritize, and handle multiple assignments in a deadline-driven atmosphere.

  • Strong digital marketing experience.

  • Experience managing budgets and vendor relationships.

  • Superb communications, presentation, and public speaking skills.

  • Strong collaboration, interpersonal and diplomacy skills, and ability to relate to people of diverse backgrounds/circumstances.

  • Basic working knowledge of publishing software, database, website, social media, and email marketing programs.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Experience in ad campaign development and execution to drive consumer behavior
