POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently recruiting for an Instructional Designer .The Instructional Designer is responsible for performing (1) design, develop, and implement training program for hospitals, community partners and other public health stakeholders outreach to include sample collection, submission, courier, biosafety, packaging and shipping regulations areas of focus; and (2) design, develop, and implement training program for workforce development in areas such as SharePoint and data usage, process improvements, efficiencies, standardization and just-in-time training needs to meet the demands of expansion at the division, and related duties as assigned. This FULL-TIME position is $27.30 per hour and is in Richmond, VA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

· Design and develop eLearning courses for delivery through the DCLS Learning Management System

· Map out training plans for outreach, workforce development, select agent, safety and more.

· Design and develop training programs (outsourced and/or in-house) that will be equitably available to a diverse audience.

· Work with stakeholders to identify barriers to training delivery, receipt, and implementation and develop a proactive method to address those barriers.

· Select appropriate training methods or activities (e.g. simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, professional development classes)

· Market available training to employees and customers and provide necessary information about sessions.

· Conduct system-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.

· Use known adult education principles and stay up to date on new training methods and techniques, ensuring equity and inclusion.

· Design, prepare and order educational aids and materials.

· Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on participant skills and KPIs.

· Partner with internal stakeholders and liaise with experts regarding instructional design.

· Maintain updated curriculum database and training records.

· Host train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts.

· Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment.

· Research and recommend new training methods, like gamification.

· Align training priorities and deliverables to organizational needs and grant objectives.

· Develop, document, and implement processes for standardization of training delivery.

  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Participate in staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars as assigned.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures, to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Efficiently performs duties as assigned and works as a team within division and company.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills within the English language.
  • Proven, high quality customer service (internal and external customers).
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Solid ability to analyze situations carefully and adopt appropriate courses of action.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to the duties, methods, and procedures required by the position.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to effectively communicate to large and small group audiences.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Prefer) Degree in Education, Training, HR, Science or related field

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Standard hours of work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
  • Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
