Layout Technician

ASYST Technologies, LLC is a state-of-the-art injection molding and automation facility located in Kenosha, WI. ASYST is known for engineered solutions, motion transfer assemblies, and problem solving in the automotive industry.

Summary of Position:
Operates all Quality Department measurement equipment, including CMM, Vision System, Optical Comparator, and all types of hand tools. Conducts layout inspections as required. Responsible for assisting with gage calibration management and R&R studies. Lends technical assistance to Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, Shipping/Receiving, and Maintenance. Responsible for supporting PPAP submissions. Conducts receiving and final inspection audits. Interacts with customers in a professional manner. Communicates quality problems and PPAP issues to suppliers.

Key Tasks:

• Accurate layout of product as required
• Performing capability studies
• Complete documentation and reporting of data
• Development of new program PPAP requirements (layout reports)
• Accurate reporting and filing of program data
• Assist with GD&T as needed
• Assist with scheduling and calibration of hand tools and equipment
• Assist with scheduling the lab for all layouts and/or metrology studies as required
• Comply with all IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 procedures and work instructions related to your position
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• Perform other duties as directed by management

Qualifications:

• 2 years of related experience
• Knowledge of ASM Y 14.5M GD&T
• Knowledge of the automotive industry PPAP process
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
• Knowledge of SPC and statistical analysis tools
• Knowledge of calibration methods and system
• General computer skills, including Word and Excel
• Ability to program and use a CMM
• Excellent communication skills
