Job Description

Title: Sr. Manager, DevOps Engineering

Business Function: Technology – Microsoft Dynamics, ERPLocation: Nashville, TN

It’s an exciting time to be part of Asurion’s Back Office Technology organization. Asurion is at the forefront of the industry in the scale and innovation we bring to the Microsoft ERP Platform, D365 Finance & Operations. We are seeking a tenacious, operations-focused technologist who is passionate about developing highly effective teams. The ideal candidate will be a transformational leader with demonstrated experience developing engineers and driving ITIL practices across an organization. You will be managing the day-to-day operations of the ERP DevOps team, ensuring the availability and reliability of our Global ERP footprint, managing technology vendors, and implementing new technologies and processes to improve efficiency and productivity.

What you will be doing?

  • Manage the availability, reliability, and scalability of our systems, supporting 24/7 operations in a high-paced environment.
  • Incident reporting and resolution, problem management, metrics collection, performance reporting, and trend analysis to drive improved business continuity across the global footprint.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineering, quality assurance, product management, and infrastructure teams, to execute on DevOps initiatives that align with business goals and IT strategies.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the DevOps team and across the organization.
  • Drive optimization of integrations, data flows, and system performance within the context of an ERP.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment frameworks.
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime and disruptions using self-healing strategies.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement robust security practices and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Drive the full adoption of ITIL practices and methodologies to enhance IT service management and incident resolution processes.

  • Strong experience with Cloud Technologies, specifically Azure and some AWS.
  • 4 years of applicable experience working in an enterprise IT operation function
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

What’s a bonus for us?

  • ERP or Dynamics D365 F&O experience
  • Knowledge of Finance and Accounting
  • Familiar with the use of version control such as GitHub, TFS
  • Experience implementing monitoring/alerting solutions such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Dynatrace, New Relic.

  • Define, track, and report on team performance metrics
  • Organize and lead the team in the execution of production deployments, support tickets, system monitoring, and restoring service from disruptions/outages
  • Guardian of global application availability and stability
  • Creates innovative team processes and solutions to improve team efficiency
  • Sets team priorities to ensure most critical items are addressed
  • Manages escalations from the application user community
  • Ensure team is diligent in monitoring/alerting to ensure the stability of business processes
  • Drive root cause analysis and mitigation plans for critical system disruption
  • Foster team collaboration with the development organization to be proactive in supporting changes
  • Analyze existing and new solutions/approaches to identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and availability
  • Must be available to work extended hours as necessary
