Job Description: Med/Surg or Tele Registered Nurse (Night Shift)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team for the night shift. As a Med/Surg or Tele Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality and comprehensive care to patients admitted to the medical-surgical or telemetry unit. Your expertise in assessing, monitoring, and managing patients' conditions will contribute to their overall well-being and recovery during the night hours.

Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in the medical-surgical or telemetry unit. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans. Provide compassionate and evidence-based care while maintaining patient comfort, safety, and dignity.

2. Monitoring and Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and psychological health, including vital signs, symptoms, and laboratory results. Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, recognizing any abnormalities or changes in patients' conditions. Promptly report and respond to any critical findings or emergencies.

3. Medication Administration: Administer medications, including oral, intravenous, and intramuscular routes, according to prescribed dosages, schedules, and protocols. Ensure accurate medication documentation and educate patients and their families about medications, potential side effects, and precautions.

4. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records, including assessments, interventions, medications, and responses to treatments. Communicate and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team through clear and concise documentation, shift handovers, and regular updates.

5. Patient and Family Education: Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their medical conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions. Address questions, concerns, and emotional needs, promoting a positive patient experience and facilitating self-care management.

6. Infection Control and Safety: Adhere to strict infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards. Implement proper hand hygiene, isolation precautions, and infection prevention measures to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections.

7. Collaborative Care: Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and ancillary staff, to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care. Act as an advocate for patients' needs and collaborate in multidisciplinary rounds and care conferences.

8. Emergency Response: Demonstrate proficiency in emergency response procedures, including cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and other medical emergencies. Assist with rapid response situations and coordinate with the code blue team as necessary.

9. Continuous Professional Development: Stay updated on current evidence-based practices, healthcare trends, and advancements in medical-surgical or telemetry nursing. Participate in continuing education programs, conferences, and professional organizations to enhance knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in [state/province] and in good standing.

- Minimum of 1 years of experience in medical-surgical or telemetry nursing. Night shift experience is preferred.

- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification may be required depending on the facility.

- Solid knowledge of medical-surgical or telemetry nursing principles, practices, and procedures.

- Proficient in performing and interpreting telemetry monitoring.

- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills to identify and respond to changes in patients' conditions.

- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team effectively.

- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting a safe and supportive environment.

- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and proficient computer skills.

- Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $132,000.00 per year
