Nursing Home Administrator

We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Nursing Home Administrator to join our team.

The Nursing Home Administrator will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursing home facility. The Administrator will work closely with the management team and staff to ensure the highest level of care and service is provided to residents, visitors and employees. They will also work closely with external stakeholders such as regulatory bodies, community leaders, and local health care providers to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations.

Nursing Home Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall operation of the facility, including oversight of daily operations, clinical care, resident and family relationships, and employee morale and development.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the nursing home industry.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to ensure the nursing home is providing quality care and services.
  • Work with management and staff to identify areas for improvement and develop plans to achieve them.
  • Manage the annual budget for the nursing home facility, review financial statements, and manage expenses.
  • Ensure that all staff members are communicating effectively with residents, families, and other stakeholders, and that all communication is respectful, timely, and accurate.
  • Maintain a positive culture within the nursing home facility and encourage teamwork and collaboration among all staff members.
  • Ensure that residents and their families are satisfied with the level of care and service provided by the nursing home facility.
  • Coordinate with medical personnel to ensure residents receive the highest possible standard of care.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that govern the overall operations of the nursing home
  • Hire, train, and manage staff to ensure proper delivery of care to the residents
  • Develop and maintain budgets to ensure financial stability of the nursing home and improve the quality of services provided
  • Develop relationships with the residents and their families to make sure they are comfortable and satisfied with the care provided
  • Manage admissions and discharge procedures according to state and federal regulations
  • Implement quality improvement and risk management programs that continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing home's services
  • Ensure that the nursing home operates in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with community groups and local businesses to promote the nursing home and develop positive relationships
  • Maintain and develop relationships with healthcare providers in the community
  • Ensure the facility is always clean, safe and welcoming

Nursing Home Administrator Qualifications:

  • Active Nursing Home Administrator license
  • At least three years of experience in healthcare management or a related field
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing nursing homes operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Outstanding organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergency situations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Demonstrated success in managing operating expenses of at least $1M annually
  • Previous sales or business development experience preferred
