Overview

The Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) will serve as the company’s “Principal Accounting Officer”, ensuring timely and accurate results for the company and its subsidiaries for internal and external reporting. The CAO will have day-to-day responsibility for overseeing corporate controller functions, revenue accounting and reporting, external reporting, and technical accounting and compliance. As a key member of the Finance leadership team, the CAO will act as a strategic business partner and financial advisor to the CFO. They will exercise sound judgment and provide insight and recommendations based on accurate and timely analyses.

What You'll Do

• Lead the preparation and timely delivery of accurate financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), company procedures, and industry standards
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including but not limited to, SEC regulations, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and company procedures
• Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes and contribute to the overall strategic direction of the company
• Identify and mitigate financial risks through proactive risk management strategies
• Implement and leverage technology solutions to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency
• Communicate financial performance and key metrics and results to internal and external stakeholders, including audit committee, board of directors, investors, and regulatory authorities
• Mentor and develop the financial accounting team, managing work allocation, performance feedback, ongoing development, and the building of an effective and efficient team dynamic
• Lead or participate in ad-hoc and special projects as required
• Other duties as assigned
• Some travel should be expected

What You'll Need

• Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in finance, accounting, or business. CPA certificate required
• 15 years financial and management accounting experience (minimally 3 years in public accounting) including at least 7 years of managerial/supervisory leadership
• 10 years of proven technical accounting experience in a supervisory capacity at a publicly traded company or equivalent public accounting experience, financial services industry preferred
• Strong technical accounting skills including expertise in SEC filings, regulatory and statutory requirements, as well as demonstrated expertise in US GAAP and statutory accounting principles and standards
• Knowledge of financial systems and proficiency in utilizing financial software, Work Day ERP knowledge preferred
