Job Summary:
As a key member of the AssuranceAmerica distribution team, the Territory Manager will be responsible for acquiring (sales) and building relationships (consulting) with independent agencies (IAs) within an assigned US-based territory (typically a state or large geographic area within a state but will also include other territories with no physical field presence).
The emphasis of this position is improving AssuranceAmerica’s market position and achievinggrowth through new IA appointments and developing incremental business in existing larger IA accounts (typically, accounts that have either not been activated or are under-performing).Territory Manager will also be responsible for terminating or rehabilitating high loss ratio IAs.
Territory Managers are “road warriors” and will be traveling out in the field 80% of the time. This position will find success through consistent agency contact, educating and motivating IA owners’ agents and customer service reps on ways to raise premium production and lower loss ratios, creative and high-quality selling and management skills, and superior planning and relationship building.
This is a highly-visible role within the company with an open connection to senior leadership. The Territory Manager who finds success in their current role will open the door for other opportunities within our growing company

Requirements

Job Responsibilities:
• Daily travel to agency locations for appropriate communication with the agency owner, agents and/or CSRs.
• Create and maintain structure to appropriately execute agency appointments, terminations, and updates. Create and implement programs to improve loss ratio and retention, improve application/quote counts, generate AD&D sales, and increase corporate brand recognition.
• Provide regular and informed training to agents on updates, expansion of service, product line changes, etc.
• Demonstrate the use of selling skills in the field, such as making good opening statements, connecting with the customer, probing for information, utilizing testimonials, delivering our value proposition, and closing.
• Timely completion of weekly sales reports, monthly calendar, and any other required tasks/activities.
• Manage time effectively to meet established objectives and deadlines and work effectively with other members of the sales team and other cross-functional teams as necessary.
• Actively participate in regular Territory Manager Consultant meetings or conference calls etc. Share competitor information, assist with training, and contribute to department goals and strategic planning.
• Maintain proficiency in using office equipment and software to enhance job requirements.
• Manage travel and other expenses to stay within budgetary constraints.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain flexibility during changes or requests with little notice.
• Respond to customer calls and inquires on a timely basis
Qualifications:
Required
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Professional sales acumen.
• Willingness to put in the time/effort to be successful.
• Up to 25% travel - most of which will be within the TMs respective territory but may include some overnights supporting out of state territories.
• Someone wishing to be in a strictly tactical, B2B, in-person sales role.
Preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish).
• Flexible travel schedule.
• 2 years in a client-facing type of position including (but not limited to)presenting company's value proposition, consultative selling duties, including onboarding and/or training of company's platform.
• Strong customer service experience.
• Experienced in prospecting new accounts while simultaneously supporting existing customers.
• Willingness to relocate as job growth opportunities are presented.

• Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, high EQ, and the ability to make autonomous decisions.
• Must be organized and able to manage multiple priorities and effectively work both independently and in a group.
