Association Management Center is Hiring a Remote Agile Delivery Specialist (Product Owner)

Job Description:

Association Management Center seeks an Agile Delivery Specialist, (Product Owner) to join our team.

The Agile Delivery Specialist is a multifaceted role responsible for maximizing the value of AMC’s products andservices in support of our strategy to grow revenue and increase customer engagement. The role will take a holistic approach to product delivery, with a focus on helping AMC clients deliver results against some of their most complex business and technology initiatives. The Agile Delivery Specialist will serve as the bridge between stakeholders, the development team, and the end-users, to drive the seamless delivery of high-quality products from inception to acceptance, that meets business objectives and customer needs. On a client-by-client basis, the Agile Delivery Specialist will gather, analyze, and document data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements that will be transformed into user stories in support of a defined client roadmap that will outline client deliverables on a quarter-by-quarter basis. The Agile Delivery Specialist will have relentless focus on delivering value and continuous improvement, while fostering a collaborative and adaptive environment conducive to Agile principles and practices.

This position is hybrid, up to one day per month in Chicago, IL. Out of state candidates may also be considered for a remote position, depending on their location.

Role Responsibilities

  • Sprint & Project Backlog Management: Prioritize client efforts based on functional business needs and help clients optimize and derive maximum value from their technology investments.
  • Requirements Gathering & Understanding: Ensure project stakeholder alignment with requirements and demonstrate the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • User Story Development & Acceptance Testing: Create user stories, test cases, mockups, and acceptance criteria to create a clear vision for the product, aligned with business goals, and validate acceptance criteria are met during development.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Act as the primary point of contact between the development team and stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and managing expectations.
  • Facilitate Scrum Events: Facilitate scrum events (such as the Daily Scrum Meeting) to remove impediments and obstacles that hinder team’s progress by fostering collaboration, transparency, and self-organization within the team.
  • Sprint & Release Planning: Oversee development and make sure the team is working on the highest value and priority work and collaborates with the team to plan releases.
  • Documentation: Own the user documentation for how things work, user acceptance testing results, and the implementation of artifacts; maintain product owned documentation.
  • Measuring Success: Monitor and review sprint reports, business and technical KPIs, identify risks, and analyze data to provide actionable insights.
  • Market Analysis: In partnership with the product manager, ensure product requirements are met with flexible, scalable, and supported technical solutions, aligned with industry trends.
  • Sprint Review & Continuous Improvement: Facilitate sprint reviews to provide effective feedback and gather feedback from stakeholders/end-users to prioritize toward continuous improvement.
  • Agile Coaching & Mentoring: Continuously coach the Scrum team towards continuous improvement and learning while communicating the Agile principles, Scrum framework, and best practices.
  • Testing Plans & User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Develop test plans and timelines, with test cases based on user stories and acceptance criteria and coordinate with the development team to execute or automate tests, document results, and address defects promptly.
Experience and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Certification: ITIL, Agile Certified Product Manager and Product Owner (ACPMPO), SAFe® Product Owner & Product Manager (POPM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Agile Certified Scrum Master, SAFe® Scrum Master (SSM), Certified Software Tester, Certified Tester Acceptance Testing (CT-AcT), or other certifications a plus.
  • Years of Experience: 5 or more years of experience working within a product development or product engineering function. Prefer 3-5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or similar Agile coaching role. Prefer 2-3 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on user acceptance testing.
  • Technology: Project Management Software, Website Technologies, Association Management System (AMS), Learning Management System (LMS), other Association Management related software, Service Management Tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Travel: Minimal travel 1-2 times per year.
  • Physical: Sitting, Walking, Standing, Manual Dexterity, Hearing, and Seeing.
