The Director of Professional Education and Outreach Programs will focus on building and supporting AGC of Minnesota’s curriculum of professional development and education programs, managing the AGC Foundation, and supporting the scholarship program and related outreach activities.
The position requires creativity, high emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, problem solving and organization skills, initiative, and the ability to inspire. The Director will be a self-starter, expected to understand the construction market, needs of students and instructors, and opportunities for students to develop in the industry; to seize opportunities to build meaningful education programs; and to create and maintain education and industry solutions to further industry and student development.
Build and Manage Curriculum Content (60%)
The Director will develop and maintain, directly and collaboratively with other staff, AGC members, and others, the curriculum for AGC’s professional education programs and seminars. Specific duties include:
Outreach(20%)
The Director will communicate and coordinate with AGC members, other associations, and industry partners to raise funds, recruit participants into AGC programs, and develop outreach campaigns and events to raise awareness and funding. Specific duties include:
AGC of Minnesota Foundation (20%)
The Director will manage and administer the AGC of Minnesota Foundation – a 501(c)(3) tax exempt entity. Specific duties include:
In addition, the Director will collaborate with staff on Director’s duties and other issues affecting the industry or AGC and perform other duties as assigned by AGC’s CEO. The Director will report to the AGC CEO.
The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree in a relevant field. Experience with fundraising, continuing/distance education, and/or the construction industry is desirable but not required.
