JOB SUMMARY:

Technology Account Specialists are responsible for learning the software and systems used in retail locations, and are trained for upgrading POS systems, hardware, etc.

Technology Account Specialists help implement and train stores on PCI security requirements and processes.  Works directly with retailers for all technology needs; including staging, installing and training of POS hardware, software, networks, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Installing operating systems, software, patches and upgrades.
• Analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving system hardware, software and networking issues.
• Configuring, optimizing, fine-tuning and monitoring operating systems, software and
• hardware.
• Setting-up and performing system backups and recovery. Building store servers.
• System and data security (virus protection, malware, PCI).
• Communicating with retailers on technology needs and industry changes.
• Implementing and supporting store networks and network security.
• Taking calls and assisting with escalation service tickets elevated from Tier 1 help desk
• support.
• Training store personnel on standard IT store procedures. Advising store on current IT needs.
• Performing other related duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) or a combination of equivalent experience and training.
• Three to five-years of job-related work experience with demonstrated competence.
• Retail experience and knowledge of POS systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of computer programming concepts and language is helpful.
• Understand how to install all types of computer software.
• Understand how to install, maintain and replace all types of PC and hardware components.
• Must be able to deal with high-levels of stress coming from multiple projects and dealing
• with stores/guests when equipment is not working properly.
• Must be able to train and support store personnel.
• Able to work with and direct teams regarding retail point of sale, back office, web browsers
• and other in-store technology relating to hardware and software.
• Must be able to develop relationships with retailers and serve as a resource for them
• concerning technology issues.
• Should possess strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills in addition to an in-depth technical knowledge of the hardware and software.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:

• Frequent local travel using personal vehicle to do on-site installations and work with retailers. Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable office environment.
