What we’re looking for:

• Available to work 3-4 hour shifts during after school hours (between 1:30pm and 6:15pm)
• SUMMER AVAILABILITY - we will continue to run our program into the summer months!
• Have AT LEAST 3 day weekday availability
• Ability to reliably commute to scheduled shifts
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience with kids strongly preferred

Work Location:

This position will be located at a school site in the Elk Grove Unified School District. We will try to place you at a school relatively close to you, however such placement is not guaranteed.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a positive role model to students by actively engaging in activities while providing guidance, emotional support, and encouragement
• Implement approved Fitness and Nutrition (FAN) curriculum, incorporate daily ELOP schedules, and structure recreational intramural sports
• Assist students with assigned tasks such as homework, writing prompts, and other activities
• Demonstrate ability to maintain control of assigned groups of students
• Prioritize student safety while maintaining an organized classroom and outside environment
• Work closely with other Assist team members, Assist leadership, and school personnel to ensure both company and school procedures are being followed
• Report any incidents to appropriate personnel and take responsible action when necessary
• Complete required ongoing company trainings to continuously enhance skills

Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Must pass LiveScan background check
• Must clear TB test
• Possess 48 completed college units or a paraeducator certificate; or be willing pass a paraeducator exam

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 20 per week
