Assembly, NYS is Hiring a Legislative Director Near Albany, NY
Bachelor's Preferred but experience in legislature is taken into account. Knowledge of the legislative process a requirement.
Review and make recommendations on bill sponsorship requests, perform legislative research and meet with legislative representatives and/or agencies. Represent the Member, help draft legislation, provide policy and program advice. Additional tasks could involve negotiating or coordinating on Member's behalf, prepare for floor debate, conferences, hearing and committee meetings. Other duties could involve tracking Member's legislation, acting as a liaison with specific groups or assist managing a team.
Currently there are two open positions in Albany NY and Utica.
