Three years of public service is strongly preferred, e.g., case management, community organizing, or nonprofit work experience. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and maintain consistent attention to details. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Suite, Goggle doc, etc. Available to work evening and weekend hours on occasion.
Constituent casework is one of the essential functions of the Assemblymember's office. While a day in the life will vary, some of the primary responsibilities include: resolving and managing constituent issues and responding to casework correspondence. Interacting with government agencies, organizations and members of the community. Data entry, maintaining files on issues, assisting with office and community events and a strong commitment to community and the State of NY.
Position can be full time or part-time. The Assembly does not have a grade system, salary is based on experience.
