ASRC Careers is Hiring an ASRC Village Resource Representative Near Point Hope, AK

JOB SUMMARY

This position will be under the direct supervision of the Manager of Village Programs. The village resource representative will provide support and assistance in the implementation of ASRC programs at the village and local levels. The village resource representative will serve as a liaison between ASRC shareholders in each of the North Slope villages in regards to community and economic development projects of interest to ASRC and residents in the Arctic Region. Village resource representative will also be responsible for facilitating follow-through on shareholder inquiries, shareholder employment recruitment at the local level, assistance in facilitating processing of stock transactions, and support to Arctic Education Foundation, and to other shareholder and community programs as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)

1.Must be willing to travel other villages or outside the North Slope for mandatory training.

2.Advocate for shareholders.

3.Rigorous tracking and follow-through on shareholder concerns.

4.Interface, professionally and positively, with shareholders in person, through telephone or written communications.

5.Recruit, interview, screen and refer qualified shareholders to potential employers. This includes ASRC, its subsidiaries and outside employers.

6.Assist shareholders with the completion of applicant information and ensure applicant recordkeeping is accurate and up-to-date.

7.Act as a liaison between Arctic Education Foundation (AEF) and local students provide support and facilitation of transactions.

8.Act as a liaison between the Stock department and shareholder to provide support and facilitation of stock department transactions.

9.Plan and coordinate ASRC events in the community.

10.Communicate with local organizations; track and prioritize issues facing community where ASRC can be a partner; and attend local career fairs.

11.Conduct pre-employment drug screening for ASRC and its subsidiaries in accordance to approved Drug & Alcohol program policies and procedures.

12.Schedule appointments for shareholders requiring professional assistance. Includes funding, educational, social service agencies, or career information related to their interests or aptitudes.

13.Identify exceptions to the shareholder hiring and career advancement programs.

14.Track and monitor referrals and placements with outside employers.

15.Maintain positive working relationships with ASRC subsidiaries and other business ventures.

16.Provide new hire employee orientation for ASRC Energy Services and its subsidiaries on as requested.

17.Assist people to submit documents to ASNA, such as Medical Transportation Funeral Assistance (MTFA) paperwork.

18.Supervises interns within the village programs organization in the local office.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

1.Strong knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to the Inupiat culture.

2.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to community effectively to management and community groups in a positive manner. Must have ability to effectively present information to the public.

3.Bachelor's degree; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

4.Strong leadership and project management skills.

5.Must be able to pass requirements to become a notary.

6.Must be familiar with the ANCSA Regional and Village Corporations, including various forms of governments such as tribal, municipal, state and federal entities.

7. Ability to work under pressure and stressful situations with diverse groups and maintain cooperative working relationships with community groups and organizations.

8.Report writing and statistical gathering required.

9.Computer skills and administrative knowledge required with proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, Visio and Oracle Software.

10.The ability to speak and understand the Inupiaq language is important and preferred.
