Richland-Bean Blossom Community School Corporation is Hiring a Media Productions Teacher - EJHS Near Ellettsville, IN

Job Summary

Position is responsible for instructing students in the field of mass communications/

video production and creating a safe and orderly learning environment. Position motivates

students to develop an interest in and an appreciation for the mass communications field.

Position develops knowledge, skills, and talents of students, utilizing a variety of

instructional techniques appropriate to students’ interests and abilities.


EDUCATION/ LICENSE/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in education.

Hold a valid Indiana Teacher’s license.

Such additional qualifications as the Board or the State of Indiana shall require.


Essential Duties - Other Duties May be Assigned

1. Instructs secondary school students in all phases of video production (to include scripting,

recording, editing, audio, studio lighting, directing and computer graphics)

2. Instruct students in the use of video software (Adobe Premiere Pro, WeVideo...)

3. Demonstrates to students the proper operation and use of video production equipment.

4. Develops clear and concise instructional lesson plans and organizes class time to provide a

balanced program of preparation, instruction, and on-air time.

5. Provides individual and small group instruction and adapts the curriculum to the needs of

students with varying abilities.

6. Uses a variety of instructional techniques appropriate for the ages and skill level of students.

7. Establishes and maintains a safe, orderly, and effective environment for learning during

class time and on-air productions.

8. Instructs students in the proper care and use of video production equipment.

9. Organizes storage areas and controls the use of materials and equipment to prevent loss,

abuse, injury, or security breech.

10. Makes minor adjustments to video production equipment and requests repairs as appropriate.

11. Works with the community to build and maintain strong partnerships.

12. Evaluates student performance and growth in knowledge and understandings and prepares

regular progress reports.

13. Selects, requisitions, and maintains books, instructional materials, video production

equipment, and instructional aids in collaboration with Director of Technology.

14. Attends staff development programs, curriculum development meetings, and other

professional activities.

15. Keeps abreast of developments, research, and new technology in the field of mass

communications.

16. Supervise, monitor and assist students in various after hour productions when applicable.

17. Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Principal or other administrators.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and analyze, and interpret educational periodicals and professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and administrative procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must be able to speak on demand to large groups of people. Must be able to transport between school buildings, districts, and cities. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of policies.
