Job Description

The Transportation Department of the North Central Texas Council of Governments is seeking an Intern to provide assistance in the strengthening of the region’s engagement in air quality and transportation projects/programs/policies. This position will provide assistance to the Communications Team with a focus on creative photography, video, and visualization. Ideal candidates should be able to work at least 20 hours per week while attending school. NCTCOG offices are located in Arlington, Texas.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assisting with camera set up/take down and equipment take down and maintenance
  • Assisting with scheduling photo and video shoots
  • Assisting with storyboarding and scripting videos
  • Assisting with taking internal and external photographs
  • Making minor edits to photographs
  • Assisting with video production for Transportation Department social media channels and websites
  • Collecting analytics on video traffic and producing reports
  • Drafting social media content to promote digital content
  • Assisting in the development of visualization, animation, and overall communication design for a variety of Transportation Department programs and projects
  • Assisting with drafting logos, graphics, and digital campaigns
  • Assisting with data entry and the maintenance of databases
  • Gathering and organizing materials to take to community events
  • Serving as a representative of NCTCOG’s goals and mission

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere Pro desired
  • Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented, organized, creative, and possess ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Required Experience

  • Must be attending an accredited college or university during employment. Pursuit of a degree in a related field desired.
  • No work experience required; at least one year of school-related experience desired.

Starting Salary

Minimum of $16.00/hour
