About Aspire Developmental Services

Aspires primary mission is to provide Early Intervention services to children up to the age of 3. Early Intervention services are available to eligible children, from newborn to age 3, who have or are at risk for developmental delays due to established biological or environmental factors. The Aspire Early Intervention program provides family-centered, home-based services to facilitate the developmental progress of children. Early Intervention staff work in partnership with parents and other caregivers throughout the process of assessment, development of the Individualized Family Service Plan (...IFSP) and planning for ongoing services. Children who are served are considered at risk for a variety of issues, including Down syndrome, autism, hearing and vision loss, speech and motor delays, mental health and socio-economic risk. The hallmark of Early Intervention is that therapists deliver the services in the home or a community setting. Therapists go to homes, day care, playgrounds, wherever the child will benefit the most, and provide services that are embedded in the childs daily routine. They also help parents access community services that benefit their family. Aspire has an Early Intervention Partnership Program (EIPP), one of only eight in the state. The goal of that program is to reduce infant mortality by identifying risks to parents and babies, often before the babies are born. The agency also runs Little Explorers pre-school, which is open to typically developing children and those with mild developmental delays. More
