Job Description

As a Behavior Technician, you will provide intensive 1:1 instruction to young children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and mentally delayed children using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) teaching tactics. Therapists teach communication, imitation, motor, self-regulation, and other skills from the child's service goals via ABA techniques.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Experience working 1:1 with children and/or in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis
Ease working with children (between the ages of 2 to 21)
Must have a professional attitude
Must be able to receive detailed information through oral and written communication
Experience with data collection preferred
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be flexible, creative, and demonstrate strong organizational skills
Must be highly motivated and self-directed
Ability to work with highly aggressive clients who hit, bite, spit, yell/scream, and kick as well as other high magnitude aggression towards self, staff, and others
Any other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Licensure:

RBT certification required within 3 months of hire
CPR/BLS certification
Professional Crisis Management Certificate (PCM) or willingness to complete upon hire, and ongoing maintenance of certifications
Must have valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
Upon hire, ongoing training is provided as needed or as requested
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time (30 minutes or more)
Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for a minimum of 30 minutes
Must be able to lift to 50 pounds 1/3 to 2/3 of working time
Must be able to sign off on requirements upon hire

Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour
