Job Description

Summary

The Overnight Front Office Receptionist perform daily audit and overnight responsibilities according to the daily audit / overnight Residences at The Little Nell front desk checklist and complete tasks in a timely manner as well as protects the welfare of hotel guests and employees, as well as company assets.

This is a dual position for Overnight Front Office Receptionist and Security Officer which works under limited supervision and is highly autonomous.

Essential Job Functions

  • Act as Overnight Front Desk Receptionist, Concierge and PBX Operator during this shift
  • Assist with guest requests and any guest services
  • Prepare next day arrivals to include keys, itineraries and registration cards
  • Post nightly rates
  • Post movie charges
  • Post overnight parking charges
  • Check wake up call sheet from PBX. Verify all wake up calls have been set on the Wakeup call clock. Continue to record wake up calls throughout evening.

Make wake up calls that are for the night shift

  • Prepare the next day daily report
  • Be completely familiar with all emergency procedures; act responsibly and in accordance with policies and procedures in the event of an emergency
  • Make Manager aware of guest’s comments and complaints
  • Report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the employee handbook
  • Report to shift on time
  • Comply with all policies and procedures for the Front Desk department, The Residences at The Little Nell, and Aspen One
  • Is familiar with hotel fire and safety procedures
  • Assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management
  • Complete tasks and projects delegated by your manager and assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Hotel Front Desk and Concierge Responsibilities
  • Valid Drivers License
  • College degree / high school diploma
  • 2-3 years previous security experience
  • Desire to work nights
  • Police background preferred
  • Be a self-starter and be able to work without supervision
  • Excellent customer service experience
  • Typing and computer skills

Additional Information

Supervision Given and Received

Given : This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Received : Works under limited supervision of the Front Office Manager. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently.

Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Kneeling and bending may be required
  • Regularly work indoors with no adverse conditions. Some positions require exposure to outdoor elements or a combination of both indoors and outdoors and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to occasionally lift, push or pull up to 30 lbs. individually or with assistance
