Job Title: Lead Cook
Department: Aquarium of the Pacific
Reports To: Executive Sous Chef
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary: $20.00 per hour
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Lead Cook at the Aquarium of the Pacific. You will be responsible for lading the preparation and execution of food items for the facility in the kitchen and/or in concessions.
Major Responsibilities
Create a warm, welcoming, and engaging service-focused atmosphere for the team and each guest.
Meet guest daily to create a special service experience.
Lead the preparation and execution of variety of food items.
Properly labels and dates food items for storage.
Assists in any and all aspects of cooking.
Minimizes waste by controlling usage and following preset portioning.
Follows approved recipes and production standards.
Helps to maintain all Kitchen equipment and its cleanliness.
Maintains a clean, safe working environment.
Maintains proper grooming and dress code standards.
Contributes attention to detail.
Must be able to produce high quality food in a fast-paced environment. *
Qualifications
Positive, customer service-oriented attitude at all times.
Must have strong knowledge of sanitary practices.
Must have Food Handles and TIP certification
Must have strong knowledge of sanitary practices.
Must have a work ethic that encourages strong urgency and quality in a team environment.
Must have the ability to work with other staff members in the facility.
Must have the ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks. Utilize kitchen equipment during food preparation.
Stay productive at all times and prepare for future needs as time allows.
Follow proper reporting procedures for accidents and incidents.
Adhere to all regulations including blood borne pathogens, infection control, use of hazardous materials and fire safety.
Serve food in the proper portion size and at the proper temperature.
Arrive to work at the scheduled time
Flexible to work night, weekends and holidays.
Perform other related duties as required.
Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.
Education and Experience
High school Diploma, GED one years related experience and or equivalent. Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have ServeSafe/Foodhandler certificate
