ASM Global-SMG is Hiring a Gymnastics Coordinator - Morgan Park Sports Center Near Chicago, IL

POSITION: Gymnastics Coordinator -- Salaried / Exempt REPORTS TO: Facility Manager Summary: Under direct supervision of the Facility Manager, the Gymnastics Coordinator will facilitate any and all related programming needs for Morgan Park Gymnastics. This includes but is not limited to creating gymnastics class schedule, staffing classes efficiently, and supervising instructors. Job Responsibilities and Duties Include But Not Limited to: Coordinate all aspects of the gymnastics program including recreational and team programs Participate in community outreach to bring new business and awareness to the local community Foster a positive gymnastics experience for all members, staff and class participants Ensure that all equipment maintenance, inspections and cleaning are addressed by the Assistant Coordinator Cultivate, recruit and book all gymnastic field trips with local schools and day camps Work with the HR Manager to conduct interviews to meet staffing needs Provide and lead trainings for all part time instructors to maintain and enforce the expectations of the MPSC Gymnastics program Supervise all instructors and classes while providing constructive criticism and feedback as necessary Staff all recreational and team classes efficiently and effectively Ensure that all staff have up to date memberships and certifications needed to instruct Approve all substitute/time-off requests by gymnastics staff and ensure the proper replacement has been filled Substitute any classes that are understaffed or need additional assistance Communicate and inform patrons about program information, financial obligations, and practice schedules, etc. Oversee the party and open gym schedule while ensuring that those activities are adequately structured and staffed Keep management informed of customer and facility/equipment needs Ensure that safety standards are met while adhering to department and facility policies Regulate the facilities' policies and procedures Construct the competition schedule for all team programs Address patron concerns and issues with the Facility Manager Perform other duties and tasks as assigned Qualifications: The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must possess current Red Cross CPR certification, Certified Instructor (USAG) or equivalent. Additional specialty/certifications preferred. Have working knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology and training principles. Have working knowledge of gymnastics teaching strategies and the incorporation of music, tempo, technique, and rhythm. Ability to be professional and motivate class participants. Ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members. Other Qualifications: Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
