PRESCHOOL/CHILD CARE TEACHER

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with the director to implement curriculum within the established guidelines.
  • Engage, develop, and ensure the safety of the children.
  • Oversee and lead all activities in the one-year-old classroom.
  • Conduct family conferences and nurture communication with families.
  • Maintain program site and equipment.
  • Maintain required program records and children's files.
  • Maintain licensing & accreditation requirements.
  • Attend team member meetings.
  • Attend all required professional development days.
  • Maintain a professional online presence.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Passion and previous experience working with children.
  • Ability to work part-time or full-time hours until 6 pm during the work week.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Must pass state and federal background checks.
  • Complete training as required by the center.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement program activities.
  • Excellent skills in teaching, communication, and interpersonal relations.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.

Work Conditions

  • Perform all physical aspects of the position, including frequently moving around, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 35 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in hazardous/dangerous situations.
  • May provide children with assistance in dealing with issues such as personal hygiene, medical needs, toileting, diapering, lifting, writing, feeding, and getting in or out of transportation.
