Ashley Furniture Industries is Hiring a Vice President of Human Resources, Manufacturing HRBP Near Advance, NC

The VP of Human Resources, Manufacturing will be responsible for all facets of Human Resources throughout the world for the manufacturing organization at Ashley Furniture. Today, that includes over 20,00 employees based throughout the US and Vietnam.

  • Work in partnership with the Manufacturing EVP and his team to understand all facets of the business, in order to create and build the HR plan organization that can best support the business plans;
  • Provide leadership and thought partnership to the manufacturing leaders across all of the plants, helping to develop their human capital plans in line with the business strategy;
  • Lead and develop HR organization to do the same at all levels of the organization;
  • Attract, develop, and retain a high performing team of Human Resources professionals including HR generalists and related professionals in employee relations, employee experience, performance management, talent acquisition, etc.;
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the EVP of Manufacturing; mentor and coach this leader and his direct reports;
  • Effectively manage and progress within an environment that has not had a sophisticated Human Resources function or plan but is in the midst of that transformation;
  • Oversee organizational HR compliance; knowledge of multi-state and local regulations; working knowledge of employment law in each of the states of operation; ensure keen oversight of all risk and manage appropriately;
  • Boost employee retention through effective engagement and management strategies that recognize and unlock potential for performance and growth;
  • Understand and shape employee needs; create distinctive value for employees; build deep employee relationships;
  • Anticipate and interpret market change, envision the future, and decide strategic priorities;
  • Co-create meaning and purpose; engage and energize the organization; lead through influence;
  • Develop talent; build and develop teams; strengthen organizational capability;
  • Drive execution, continuously improve the core, and reallocate resources at pace;
  • Create possibilities from new thinking, generate disruptive change, and lead change;
  • Experiment, collaborate across boundaries, and scale and invest new ideas;
  • Provide the change management required to help all people engaged in this work to fully understand and appreciate the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion, among other key business issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15 years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience,
  • 5 years as an HR Generalist leading a team of HR Business Partners
  • Has been responsible for a global employee population size of 10,000 across a number of non-union plants;
  • Astute in all facets of Human Resources – employee engagement, performance management, employee relations, talent management, and talent acquisition;
  • Has worked very closely or directly reported to senior leaders of the company, including serving as a business partner, coach and mentor;
  • A person who thrives being on the plant floor, and embraces the opportunity to travel around the world to meet colleagues to better understand their needs;
  • Has worked closely with HR leadership in the development and implementation of a more modern Human Resources function, aligned with the business goals;
  • Ideally has lived in or traveled extensively to other parts of the world, preferably Asia;
  • Spanish as a second or first language is desired;
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Master’s given additional consideration.
