The North Carolina certified Paramedic functions and plays an integral role as a part of the clinical patient care team in the Emergency Department (ED) under the direction/supervision of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Medical Director or Medical Oversight (e.g., ED physician or Licensed Independent Practioner, LIP) delivering the highest quality of compassionate patient care. The Paramedic operates within the defined scope of practice as defined by the Medical Director and North Carolina Office of EMS (NCOEMS) safely providing direct and indirect patient care (adhering to National Patient Safety Goals and CMS guidelines), observation, specified treatment and procedures while maintaining personal safety as well as effectively collecting and communicating pertinent data, physical, clinical and psychosocial findings within the patient care team including, but not limited to, nursing and LIPs. Performs all work with accordance to the mission, visions, and values of Ashe Memorial Hospital (AMH).
Must be willing to receive all required vaccinations i.e. flu shot, etc.
