Summary :

The Credit Assistant performs administrative support duties for the credit division.

What you'll be contributing :

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Makes cash application batch entries in Oracle / JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software.
• Prepares miscellaneous deposits.
• Resolves open customer deductions timely via communications with the customer, the Traffic department, and / or supervisor.
• Assists with the monthly close process for accounts receivable to the general ledger, including entering batched journal vouchers and processing invoices and statements.
• Performs the initial phase of new credit investigations, including checking applications for completeness and accuracy, contacting credit references and obtaining credit reports.
• Responds to customer requests for document copies and to credit reference requests.
• Types and files all correspondence and sorts and distributes mail.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

To succeed in this position, you will need :

Minimum High School Diploma or GED

2 Year - Associate Degree technical school degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred.

Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts receivable and general office positions in an automated systems environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office365 and computer applications

Knowledge of basic accounting principles. General knowledge of office procedures and practices and ten key-by-touch skills
