Ascentist Healthcare is Hiring a Clinic Registered Nurse - ENT Near Kansas, MO

We’re currently seeking a full-time Clinic Registered Nurse working with one of our ENT physicians, Monday through Friday during the day, at our clinics located in Lee's Summit and Belton MO and Leawood, KS.

As a Clinic Registered Nurse, you’ll have the opportunity to ensure a positive, quality patient clinical experience during patient office visits, provide nursing care for patients in the clinics, assist providers with exams and ensure detailed documentation and recording it in the EMR, through collaboration with the health care team.

Other essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Promotes the mission, vision and values of the organization.
  • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and their families.
  • Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and regulatory standards.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols; medication administration and storage procedures; and controlled substance regulations.
  • Participate in the development of the plan of care with other team members and safely implements that plan.
  • Coordinates the collection of all documentation required prior to the patient’s first visit including: labs, x-rays, pathology reports, physician notes, etc.
  • Coordinates and ensures patients are in the room and prepared to see the physician
  • Prepares equipment and aids providers during treatment, examination, and procedures
  • Implements and notes physician orders.
  • Directs patient flow as dictated by treatment plan. Observes, records, and reports a patient's condition and reaction to drugs. Administers medications as directed.
  • Documents in the electronic medical records system (EMR).
  • Coordinates and assists with discharge instructions, follow-up care, diagnostic tests, and existing and new medication instructions.
  • Administers and documents general nursing care.
  • Applies nursing process, critical thinking, and judgment to clinical practice.
  • Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Resolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
  • Assists as needed with patient assessments (height, weight, blood pressure, reason for visits, etc.) adapting basic procedures to patient medical needs and treatment stage.
  • Obtain lab/specimen samples as needed.
  • Communicate in an attentive and individualized manner in every encounter.
  • Verifies the patient's understanding of the purpose of the visit.
  • Provide instruction/teaching to the patient according to the educational plan.
  • Document care provided or procedures performed accurately on patient records.
  • Provide each patient care in a safe, comfortable and private environment.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs; and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Maintains clinical supplies by checking stock to determine PAR/inventory level.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies.
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information and participating in team problem-solving methods.
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with established policies and procedures.
  • Participates in department and clinic meetings as well as professional development activities.
  • Understands HIPAA regulations and maintains the strictest confidentiality at all times. Has read and understands the company’s HIPAA Privacy Policy.
  • Complies with all regulatory requirements including OSHA, HIPAA, Ascentist Policies and Procedures and Ascentist Employee Handbook.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned/necessary.

Qualifications

Education, Experience & Certifications:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Must have 2 years of substantial clinical nursing experience
  • Active applicable state licensure (for MO and KS)
  • Must hold a current BLS
  • Demonstrated track record in understanding, maintaining infection control, administering medication, health promotion and maintenance
  • Clean background check

  • Demonstrates proven verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and understand to patients, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Proven track record in reliability and dependability
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Demonstrates effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with providers, patients, and team members.
  • Demonstrates friendly, personal, and timely customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to function independently without supervision while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in an ever changing environment.
  • Proven track record in effectively planning, organizing and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain a positive, courteous demeanor with all patients and colleagues
  • Demonstrates proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email (Outlook or Gmail)
  • Demonstrates understanding of and experience using an electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use general office equipment including phones, fax machines, copiers and other similar office technology on a regular basis
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of all internal and external communications to speak, read, write and understand English, as the primary language of patients calling and requesting information and/or services from the organization.
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Understanding of and ability to comply with all regulatory requirements including OSHA, HIPAA, Ascentist Policies and Procedures and Ascentist Employee Handbook

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a clinical office environment
  • Ability to speak and understand other languages.
