Ascension is Hiring a Registered Nurse RN - Medical Oncology Near Joliet, IL

Details
  • Sign-on bonus: $15,000.00 Sign-on Bonus for those qualified candidates provided you successfully complete all pre-employment requirements and subject to the term. Current associates are not eligible (*Rehires have to be inactive for min of 18 months to be eligible for this).
  • Department: Medical Oncology
  • Schedule: 7am-7pm, rotating weekends & rotating holidays

    Responsibilities

    Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

    • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
    • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
    • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
    • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
    • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
    Requirements

    Licensure / Certification / Registration:

    • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
    • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

    Education:

    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
    • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Nurses hired after May 23, 2014, who have a diploma or an associates’ degree in nursing will be required to be accepted into a BSN program within six (6) months of the nurse’s hire date. The nurse will be required to complete a BSN program within three (3) years of his/her hire date.

    Work Experience:

    • Two to four years of clinical nurse experience preferred.
