What You Will Do

Ascension Saint Agnes is looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Cardiologist to serve as Section Chief of the Cardiology Department. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Saint Agnes to provide physician leadership and medical services to patients.

Responsibilities:

• Provide oversight of healthcare delivered under the aegis of assigned area.
• Assume bottom-line responsibility for assigned capital and operating budgets.
• Meet or exceed budgeted target.
• Supervise subsections.
• Oversee deployment of staff, employee development, performance and satisfaction.
• Review credentials, procedures, skills and clinical performance.
• Monitor safety and adverse events.
• Prepare regular performance reports.
• Develop needed inpatient and outpatient care systems, organizes and directs inpatient services, call schedule, and/or outpatient care.
• Contribute to education of residents, students and staff.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Maryland Board of Physicians obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Board certified/eligible in Specialty in compliance with hospital Medical Staff by-laws required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD), or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
