Job Summary

Substance Abuse Counselor/CASAC, CASAC-T, LMSW, LMHC: Ascendant New York is a free-standing boutique detox, inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient facility located in Midtown Manhattan. Ascendant New York is licensed by the State of New York’s Office of Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Services and is looking for a part time, weekend Substance Abuse Counselor. Must have CASAC, CASAC-T, LMSW, LMHC or other QHP and experience in alcoholism and drug treatment. MUST be willing to work Saturdays and Sundays during day shift. Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsibilities include:

1) Providing counseling and case management services to clients;

2) Hold individual and group counseling sessions;

3) Chart patients’ progress, develop treatment plans;

4) Counselors will do intakes, level of care determinations, bio-psychosocials and involve family members in treatment;

5) Additional duties will be determined by the Clinical Director.

Qualifications and Skills

Must have CASAC, CASAC-T, LMSW, LMHC or other QHP and experience in alcoholism and drug treatment.

All patients are rapid tested on admission. PPE is available for all staff.

• Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

• Addiction counseling: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• CASAC, CASAC-t or LMSW or LCSW or LMHC (Required)
