The Low Voltage Tech will install, maintain, and repair communications equipment. Tech is responsible for working with quality, safety, and efficiency in mind.

• Must understand basic telephony architecture, copper multi-pair frames and cross-connect, color code, and connectivity of telephone systems and devices.
• Understands networking access methods such as Ethernet and corresponding standards from IEEE.
• Understands current trends of structured cabling infrastructure operating in large scale enterprise networks and data centers.
• Demonstrate a clear knowledge of industry codes, standards, and methods such as IEEE, ANSI, TIA, EIA, BICSI, NEC, NFPA, and OSHA.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Experience with the physical installation, testing, and troubleshooting of cabling infrastructure inclusive of category 5e, 6, 6a, multi-pair copper and fiber optics.
• Understanding of commercial construction, electrical principles, and voice/data/video networks.
• Ability to interpret engineering, architectural, and construction plans, drawings and specifications, and knowledge of building and mechanical/electrical codes is required.
• Must work well with little supervision individually and in a team environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong attention to detail while producing accurate and high-quality work.
• Displays strong work ethic with an “all-in” attitude.
• Motivated to learn and advance new skills.
• Must be willing to travel out of market/state.
• Must be available to work weekends and/or nights, in extreme weather conditions.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License

Education and Experience:

• 1-3 years of experience of cabling infrastructure with knowledge of networking architecture and commercial construction practices. Low voltage experience.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Ability to obtain BICSI Cabling Installation Certifications.
• Hands-on First Aid CPR training.
• Complete required training to maintain company and industry compliance.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 75 lbs. repeatedly.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be willing to work through temperature changes.
• Must be willing and have ability to work on a ladder and lift.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
