Position Title Ministry
Head of Nursery Family Ministry
Position Description
To provide dependable, safe, secure, and nurturing care to the children while at our Church, ages 0-4
years in a clean environment. This position reports to the Director of Kid’s Ministry.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Providing age-appropriate care which includes: feeding, changing diapers, escorting to the bathroom,
interacting with children through games, stories, play and prayer. Universal precautions should always be
used while changing diapers or cleaning of body fluids.
- Prepare areas for children, unlock rooms, ensure supplies are replenished.
- Welcome and greet families as they arrive.
- Be polite, friendly, and courteous to all children, parents, and volunteers.
- Stay until the children are secured with a responsible adult named on the child’s registration form.
- Notify parents and Director of Kid’s Ministry immediately in the event of an emergency.
- Straighten the room and clean and toys before leaving. All toys that have had contact with saliva will require
- Help with nursery supervision for church-wide events and other Asbury special events.
- Be aware of, adhere to, and enforce Asbury’s Safe Sanctuaries policy within kid’s ministry.
Qualifications:
- Experience in caring for children between the ages of 0 to 4 with the ability to adapt and interact with a
- Pride in being punctual, dependable, and trustworthy.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Satisfactory completion of CPR training for infants and children.
- Ability to take both initiative and direction and to work enthusiastically with others as part of a team effort.
- Must be in agreement with the mission and strategy of Asbury Church of engaging in relationships where
Christ transforms through worship, groups and service.
Hours: This is a part-time, non-exempt position. Sunday hours are required (even if a holiday) as well as Monday
nights during Alpha Bible Study and other special events, which may require occasional night or weekend hours.
Examples include Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Easter, Christmas Eve, etc.
Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience and education.
