Asbury Care Center is Hiring a Treatment Nurse Near San Antonio, TX

Castle Hills Rehab is urgently looking for compassionate, dedicated and focused Wound Care Nurse(LVN/RN) for our skilled nursing facility located in San Antonio, Texas who love helping contribute to the quality and dignity of life of their residents. Wound Care Nurse Duties and Responsibilities

The Wound Care Nurse is responsible for the prevention, investigation and monitoring of wounds. Also responsible for keeping records of trends in resident wounds.

·Assess the unique needs of each patient to determine appropriate treatment plans

·Educate patients and families on best practices to promote healing and wellness

·Track treatments and patient progress according to HIPAA guidelines

·Coordinate with supervising physicians to ensure smooth recovery processes

·Provide excellent nursing care to patients suffering from wounds.

·Ensure optimum patient care delivery in wound care nursing procedures.

·Educate and counsel patients and their families on wound care processes and issues.

·Monitor and treat all types of skin problems of residents including open wounds, scars or skin infection and skin rashes or reactions. Preventing the skin breakdown.

·Coordinate with Medical Director and DON on wound care of residents

·Acts as a point of resource to staff and the family of residents concerning wound care issues, news and education.

·Responsible for implementation and overseeing of policies and procedures involving wound care.

·Identify areas in which education of staff is needed and work with Nurse Management staff and DON to implement in servicing.

Wound Care Nurse Requirements and Qualifications

  • Current Texas state licensure as a nurse- LVN RN LPN
  • CPR and basic life support (BLS) certifications
  • Certification and prior experience in wound care.
  • Wound Care Certification required
  • Nursing: 1 year (Required)
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
  • Must be able to relate information concerning a patient/resident condition.
  • Must be CPR certified.
