DescriptionAs a member of the Flavor Team, the Flavor Lab Technician is responsible for assuring all samples are compounded, meeting set standards and specifications and sending them off to customers promptly.
Essential Functions
Essential Functions
- Conduct standardized tests and laboratory analysis to evaluate the quality and physical characteristics of flavor compounds.
- Compound sample formulas to be sent to customers.
- Analyze and interpret the results and experiments to ensure conformity to specifications.
- Monitor laboratory work and product quality to ensure compliance with set standards and specifications.
- Provide technical support and services for Flavorist.
- Set up, adjust, clean, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment in work areas.
- Participate in the research, development, or manufacturing of flavor and sample formulas.
- Refill, maintain, and restock laboratory stock bottles and supplies.
- Perform and provide backup support for the Applications Laboratory.
- Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes use of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods. Using scientific rules and methods to solve problems.
- Strong affinity for food, cuisine, and the culinary arts with proven technological expertise in food and flavor, comfortable in dialog with researches and scientists, as well as interpreting and translating technological issues for non-technical personnel.
- Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
- Strong detail-oriented and multitasking skills.
- Strong time management, delegation, and organization skills with strong problem-solving ability.
- Bachelor's in Chemistry or related field preferred.
