ArtCenter College of Design is Hiring a Copy Services Associate Near Pasadena, CA

ArtCenter College of Design is searching for an experienced Copy Services Associate to join our team.
The salary range for this position: $32,400.00 - 36,400.00

Finalsalary is based on education, experience, skills relevant to therole, and internal equity.

Every positionat ArtCenter plays an important part in carrying out the values, goals,strategic vision, and mission of the College. This includes diversity,equity, inclusion, access, belonging (DEIAB) and culture.

This position provides copy, print, and customer service to students, faculty, and staff using Copy Center facilities. Responsibilities include copying, printing, binding, cutting, assisting student workers, cash register transactions, and basic maintenance of the equipment such as ensuring paper and toner supplies. The Copy Services Associate may also be tasked with delivery of materials to campus departments as needed. This position performs opening and closing procedures when needed.

This is a full-time on-site position with a schedule of: 7:30am–3:30pm Monday through Thursday, plus8am–4pm Saturday.

Essential Functions

Customer Service — 80%

  • Provide quality customer service, document preparation, copying, printing, (laser & Inkjet print, small to large sizes), printing from email, spiral binding, wire binding, perfect binding, saddle stitch binding, operating a cash register, and processing credit card transactions.
  • Ensure all print forms are completed properly
  • Responsible for all front of store operations, including opening and closing
  • Deliver finished print jobs, paper, and supplies to various departments weekly

Equipment and Supplies — 20%

  • Ensure that supply levels of paper, ink, and toner are kept at optimal levels
  • Maintain copy machines around campus and report maintenance issues to Supervisor or Manager
  • Collect monthly meter read from copiers
  • Daily paper check and refill them as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in Art, Graphics, or similar field
  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience in printing environments
  • Working knowledge of Apple computers, graphics software, and copiers/printers necessary
  • Ability to operate large format plotters, copiers, printers, binding machines, lamination machines, cutters, cash registers, and credit card machines as well as using basic hand tools (screwdriver, X-Acto knife, etc.)
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Customer service-focused individual with good verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented, highly organized, able to balance priorities, takes initiative, reliable, and resourceful.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as with others
  • Staying calm under pressure when shop traffic increases
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty, and staff
  • A commitment to diversity, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within Art Center’s diverse communities

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree preferred
  • Prior copy center experience
  • Troubleshooting skills for copy shop equipment is helpful
  • Able to work in different campuses when needed
  • Flexible schedule is preferred

Physical Demands and Working Environment

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a shop setting with frequent interruptions and distractions; extended periods of time using shop equipment including computers, viewing computer monitors, shop equipment etc.; interactions with other individuals. Due to the nature of the work environment, there is exposure to loud noises, chemicals, fumes, dust and heat.

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an shop setting; to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time; including, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, squatting, and twisting; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight (up to 50 pounds, or team-lift up to 100 pounds); to operate office and shop equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. Regular and consistent attendance are required for most positions.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
