Job Description

Medical Transportation Billing Company located in Upper Macungie Township, an Allentown suburb, is seeking qualified individuals to staff its follow up department. It is preferred that candidates have ambulance billing and coding experience, but will train for the position. Certified Ambulance Coder (CAC) is preferred.

Description

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the employee will perform a wide variety of duties including contacting insurance carriers for claim status and payment, researching missing information that is needed for claims payment, completing paper and electronic claims rejections from insurance carriers, communicating with patients and medical facilities as needed.

Duties

• Review each claim that is unpaid and determine nonpayment reason.
• Make sure each claim touched is going in the correct direction for payment.
• Utilize all available technology for unpaid claims and research missing information.
• Communicate with patients and medical facilities as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to follow up on unpaid claims to get them resolved.
• Proficient use of Internet Explorer and ability to navigate websites in multiple windows.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word
• Customer Service oriented
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment.

• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must display good written and oral communication skills.
• Must have the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

Required Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ambulance Transportation Billing and Coding Experience
• Zoll RescueNet Billing Software experience preferred.
• CAC Certification preferred.
• Prior claims follow-up and appeals experience.
• Extensive knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and Commerical Insurance Carriers.

ARS Inc. is a Medical Transportation Billing Company that provides billing and claims processing to over 80 clients in 6 states. The billing process includes claims submission to federal and state programs, commercial insurance carrier and direct to patient, medical records management, data import and entry, insurance verification, posting and aged claims follow-up and client relations and reporting. ARS Does NOT perform collections functions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
