Job Title: Packing Technician

Location: Ridgefield, NJ

Shift: 3rd Shift, 12:00 AM - 8:30 AM (Occasional weekend overtime required)

Pay Rate: $31.17 per hour

About the Position:

The Packing Technician is responsible for performing routine tasks, operating equipment, and troubleshooting within the automated syringe inspection and syringe packaging area. This role supports the execution of the production plan and requires a flexible work schedule based on production demands and personnel availability.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and troubleshoot high-speed automated inspection and packaging equipment.
• Perform tasks such as loading syringes onto inspection equipment, changing label reels, and replenishing packaging items.
• Operate syringe assembly machine, thermoformer, cartoner, case palletizer, serialization equipment, and wrap pallets.
• Participate in line changeovers, striving to minimize downtime and maximize overall equipment effectiveness (OEE%).
• Ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at all times.
• Perform routine quality and safety inspection walk-throughs of production areas.
• Conduct scheduled cleanings of equipment and packaging rooms.
• Serve as a witness for routine unit operation tasks for batch record/signing and maintain associated documentation.
• Assist with formal Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as needed.
• Adhere to the production schedule, providing overtime and weekend support as required.
• Perform routine assignments with supervision, identify issues, troubleshoot, propose solutions, and keep management informed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• HS Diploma or GED with 3-5 years of experience, AA degree in science, engineering, or a related discipline with 1-3 years of experience, or BS degree in science, engineering, or a related discipline with 0-3 years of experience.
• Prior mechanical experience and/or experience as a Packaging Operator in the pharmaceutical or medical device industries.
• Experience with automated inspection and packaging equipment.
• Syringe/vial experience preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing position within a GMP environment.
• Strong attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to stand for several hours, bend, squat, reach, and lift/push/pull various weights.
• Ability to pass the required visual acuity test (corrective lenses permitted).
• Flexible work schedule to accommodate different start times or additional hours based on production demands.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Engineering background.
• Experience with syringe or vial packaging.
• Production line experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industries.
