Schedule: Monday to Friday 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM & every 3rd weekend with week-day off

Description:

The main function of a lab technician is to perform routine medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

Job Responsibilities

Ensure proper laboratory excellence is performed by prepping instruments, loading reagents, performing calibration, running QC, running patient testing on medical laboratory equipment, after competency is obtained.

Job Duties

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures

• Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic ability to work independently and within a team environment and manage one's time.
• Basic knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries and diseases.
• Basic ability to analyze data and accurately document and record results.

• High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills

Requirements:

• At least one year of clinical laboratory testing, generalist experience [Coag, Hem, Urinalysis, chemistry, etc.] required

• Experience with centrifuges

• Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
