Schedule: 2nd Shift either 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM (Full-time) or 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM(Part-time)

Description:

The main function of an accessioner is responsible for processing laboratory samples. They work with other laboratory employees to catalog patient specimens, like blood, urine, or tissue, for analysis. They mostly work with blood. Lab professionals carry out diagnosis and treatment based on the samples received.

Essential Duties:

Receives and triages all specimens for clinical testing

Manages clinical information within LIMS database

Performs internal audits of clinical charts

Collaborates with various departments to ensure testing accuracy

Day-to-Day:

Prepares laboratory specimens for designated departments/locations prior to laboratory analysis and testing. Unpacks specimens from clients and other LabCorp branches and routes specimens by type to various staging areas/ departments

Accession incoming specimens and route specimens to the appropriate laboratory or send them out to the appropriate satellite facility.

Prepare specimens for the laboratory prior to laboratory processing/testing, including sorting and labeling specimens and accompanying paperwork.

Data enter specimen, patient, and client information from specimen requisitions into the laboratory database.

Identify, alert, and hold specimens with incomplete processing information until resolved.

Verify requisitions are entered correctly into the database.

Scan, copy, and file specimen paperwork.

Perform other duties such as preparing labels and forms for the accessioning process.

Will be accessioning with specimen – take specimen out – inputting information into the computer system, verifying names. Need someone who will have attention to detail, as well as good typing skills

• Clinical laboratory: 1 year (Preferred)
