Armstrong Teasdale LLP is seeking a Business Acceptance Counsel to join its team. The Business Acceptance Counsel analyzes potential conflicts of interest and collaborates with key stakeholders to manage and mitigate risk.
This position is fully remote
Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
· Reviews potential new clients and matters, as well as lateral hires, to identify conflicts of interest under applicable rules
· Works with attorneys and General Counsel’s Office to coordinate conflicts analysis. Prepares waiver letters and assists with implementation of ethical screens as required.
· Serves as a resource for conflicts resolution by communicating with attorneys and staff, summarizing issues, and actively maintaining the conflicts database
· Collaborates with the firm’s Pricing, Billing, and Technology teams to maintain matters for existing firm clients
· Monitors the quality of work output and delivery
· Proactively explores opportunities for client intake process innovation and efficiency

Required Education: Juris Doctorate
Preferred Education: N/A
Required Experience: At least two years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal environment.
Preferred Experience: Knowledge of and proficiency with legal technology systems, with an emphasis on conflicts searching, corporate research, new business intake, risk management, and document management software
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Physical Activity: The employee will be required to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer
Travel Required: 10%
