Armavel, LLC is Hiring a Remote Data Scientist (REMOTE)

Job Summary : Armavel is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Data Scientist Team Lead to join our high-performing Data Ecosystem (DE) team, focused on Enterprise Data Warehousing combined with Analytics. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the strategy and implementation of a consolidated repository and compute solution, as well as advanced analytics. The ideal candidate possesses strong logic and interpersonal skills, demonstrating expertise in database design and implementation, predictive and prescriptive modeling, machine learning (ML) model development, training, deployment, and data visualization.

As a Data Scientist Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in setting goals for effective data management, translating user needs into database design, and creating advanced analytics processes. The successful candidate will bring a deep understanding of health informatics, along with the ability to produce detailed documentation.

What You’ll Be Up To

  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging organizational data to drive solutions
  • Recommend external data sources which can enhance organizational data.
  • Mine and analyze data from internal and external databases to drive optimization and improve the quality of advanced analytics
  • Explore large analytics dataset(s) using advanced toolkits and techniques to identify patterns, trends, and outliers.
  • Visualize results of data exploration activities
  • Use predictive and prescriptive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, service delivery, and other business outcomes
  • Select and evaluate models to determine which one is the best fit, or suitable, for the data it was generated from
  • Train, validate, deploy, and monitor models using an MLOps framework focused on tracking, automation, monitoring and observability, and reliability
  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor's degree Electronics Engineering or other engineering or technical discipline (Bachelor’s degree in another discipline may be acceptable when augmented by higher levels of education or applicable experience (ex. military))
  • At least five years of relevant experience, with at least two (2) years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development
  • Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
  • Experience working with and creating data architectures
  • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.

What You Need in Your Toolkit

  • Project Management, Lean Six Sigma, Scrum or other business certifications
  • Cloud-based Data Engineering, Data Quality, Data Science, or Data Warehouse certifications (i.e. AWS, Azure, Snowflake)
  • Familiarity with additional toolkits such as TensorFlow, open-source notebooks such as Jupyter, or platforms leveraging AutoML
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI
  • Understanding of Oracle DB, SQL Server DB, MongoDB (nosql), and PostgreSQL databases
  • Agile/Scrum Certification
