General Notes

This position will involve management of staff, interviews, materials and coordination with multiple agencies and participants to conduct a study of family members who are caregiving for individuals experiencing Lewy Body Dementia. This position is currently funded for 2 years from start date and may be renewed based upon availability of funding, work performance, project needs, and progress toward research goals.

Purpose

This position will involve management of a study funded by the National Institutes of Health involving caregivers for a family member who is experiencing Lewy Body Dementia.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination and communication with multiple agencies involved with recruitment of participants
  • Scheduling interviews and conducting interviews
  • Oversight of interviewers and tracking the completion of interviews
  • Mailing devices to participants, cleaning devices, and assuring participants are able to use devices
  • Order supplies, devices, general study management
  • Tracking study completion, processing payments
  • Assisting in selecting and training additional research staff

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Development, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or other related field.
  • Two years' experience with research studies.
  • Experience working with older adults.
  • Management, supervision and leadership experience.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work occasionally after-hours as needed.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Human Development, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or other related field.
  • Experience managing large research projects with multiple components.
  • Previous project management experience.
  • Experience working in university setting.

Salary Range

$60,000 depending on qualifications

Preference for ability to conduct some interviews in evenings or weekends, though not required.

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
