Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management, the Director of Admissions is an integral part of the Student Affairs team and supports all aspects of the admission recruitment cycle for the main campus of Arkansas Tech University. Responsible for interpreting the mission of the university to external constituencies to include prospective students, families, guidance and other school personnel, parents, alumni and independent consultants. Responsible for establishing and achieving recruitment goals annually. The Director of Admissions will provide oversight of undergraduate, transfer, and concurrent enrollment to include the areas of recruitment, processing, technology, scholarships, marketing, campus visits, concurrent enrollment and special programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide oversight to all functional areas within the Office of Admissions, including student recruitment, admission, and yield operations in addition to scholarships, processing, technology and marketing, campus visit and special events, and concurrent high school enrollment.

Supervise, lead, and directly manage the work of four associate directors.

Identify and plan outreach strategies to attract prospective students.

Develop and oversee implementation of need-based, merit or other scholarship programs as appropriate.

Develop and oversee concurrent enrollment initiatives.

Collaborate with the MARCOMM office regarding the Admissions Office's recruitment and communication plan with the purpose of promoting the University's visibility and general recruitment efforts.

Monitor and implement new admissions guidelines as set forth by the University.

Establish and enrich working relationships with goal aligned departments on campus.

Develop new and manage key referral relationships with college advisors, guidance counselors, educational consultants, and other constituencies directly supporting the college search process for students.

Provide support and assistance to all functional areas through data driven research and analysis of regional and national trends.

Annual budget development and tracking for all areas in the Office of Admissions.

Exhibit strong customer service, written and oral communication skills, and the ability to forecast and strategically use data to plan accordingly.

Ability to communicate with various constituencies including prospective students, parents, referral sources, service providers and colleagues.

Represent the Admission Office on campus-wide committees.

Monitor and promote professional development activities for staff.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or his/her designee.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of best practices in student recruitment.

Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively solve problems and to initiate and implement projects independently.

Working knowledge of student recruitment software(s), marketing campaigns, recruitment publications.

Budget supervision.

Employee supervision.


Minimum Education, Certification, or Experience Requirements:

Master's Degree and at least 3 years of experience with Admission/Recruitment functions on a college/university campus.

Experience with supervising multiple employees.

Experience using technology to manage operations.

Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:
Five (5) years’ progressive work experience in college admissions.

Experience with marketing and communications plans for student recruitment.

Knowledge of student populations and changing demographics in student recruitment

CRM and/or SIS experience on a college campus (Slate and Banner preferred).

Work Location and Environment:
Russellville Campus.

Some travel is required.

Weekend and weeknight work is possible.

Must be able to lift 25lbs.
