Manager of Preclinical Assessments
JOB SUMMARY
The Manager of Preclinical Assessments will be responsible for creating assessments (exams), maintaining question and data databanks, and generating post-exam analytical reports. Responsibilities will include building relationships with all members of the institution to ensure that students have adequate learning materials, and that faculty have access to data necessary for continuous quality improvement. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Preclinical Medicine.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSBILITIES
Collaborates effectively with faculty and staff to ensure the timely preparation, collection and delivery of specific educational materials which will be used to construct computer-based assessments
Works at a significant level of authority in cooperation with the Office of Academic Affairs to construct and administer computer-based assessments in an appropriate testing environment
Proficient at the superuser level in the use of all specialized software which will be utilized to deliver the curriculum
Establish and maintain databases of faculty generated assessment items (questions) linked to specific learning objectives and core competencies as outlined by course syllabi
Display the highest degree of professionalism for the college in all communication and interaction and to maintain confidentiality and privacy
Other duties as assigned the Associate Dean of Preclinical Medicine and Research or his/her designee
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education or health related field (or equivalent work experience)
Minimum of two (2) years’ related work experience for consideration
Work experience related to program development, program logistics, or data input
Experience working with students
High energy, versatile, self-directed
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education or health related field
Experience working within medical or health education
Two (2) plus years of experience working with students and faculty
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy
Display professionalism for the college in all communication and interaction
Ability to prioritize and organize numerous and varied assignments
High-energy, versatile, self-directed
Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, i.e., Microsoft Office
Availability beyond normal work week hours

May be required to transport oneself to other campus offices, conference rooms, and on occasion, to off-campus sites to attend meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars, etc.
May require significant travel or work away from campus
Requires attendance at events representing ACHE within as well as outside of the college setting
Frequently required to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations
Frequently required to see for purposes of reading matter
Frequently required to hear and understand speech at normal levels
Occasionally required to lift items in a normal office environment
Frequently required to operate office and presentation equipment
